NEXT TO BLOW – YC (Young Chris) featuring Future – “Racks On Racks”

Atlanta’s YC’s hit song “Racks ” is the definition of a “guilty pleasure” and is currently the most played song in the A. I can’t recall a time when a song has been so terrible & great at the exact same time lol.  I mean it he has everything working against it:

 

• Autotune (this should automatically disqualify it)
• Gold teeth (even Young Dro & Yo Gotti took their grills out)
• He looks like a cross between Drake & Lloyd and has a hypeman wearing rhinestones on tight fitting clothes
• Has the name of an established dope rapper (Young Chris of Young Gunz & State Property)
• Song is about nothing but ballin’ & stuntin’ and says nothing new (if you can even understand half of what he says)

 

And despite all of this, this song is somehow bumpin & catchy lol.  During the first verse you’re tempted to turn it off but something keeps you from doing what you feel the urge to do.  By the time the second chorus comes in, it’s impossible not to bob your head and say “racks on racks on racks” lol.  I’ve been bumping this for about a month straight and it still hasn’t worn off

He should be close to finalizing a major label deal because if you have a hit song in ATL, you are automatically guaranteed a deal (see: Travis Porter, Roscoe Dash, DG Yola, Rocko, Dem Franchize Boys, Shop Boyz, D4L, etc.).

He has a thing where he “Murders The Hits” and does comedy remakes of popular songs.  Well this is his hilarious male remake of the Lyfe Jennings song “Statistics” where he’s trying to give dudes some playa points on dealing with these females lol. I been waiting on a male version of this song and my prayers have been answered lol.

Memphis’ own 2Deep has a hit with this one. When I first heard this song I was instantly drawn to the chorus, which interpolates Smokey Robinson & The Miracles’ classic “More Love.”

Here’s his bio:

2 Deep, AKA “The Southern President” has hustled his way to the top of the Memphis Rap scene. This talented lyricist has definitely paid his dues. Raised by his grandmother in one of the toughest areas of the Bluff City known as Orange Mound, 2 Deep has plenty of life experiences to rap about. Once high school was behind him, he quickly fell prey to the streets and found himself facing a charges of possession with the intent to sell. Realizing he had much more to offer to society, he began to focus even more on his music. “

I really got into rapping when I was 14. I would listen to Jay-Z, 2PAC and Outkast and study their music. I felt like I could do the same thing. Yes, this is new music from Outkast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I must say it’s FIE! It’s four verses, with two of them being new.  The song originally was an unrelased song from Big Boi’s solo (which is a must buy) and is sorta like an upbeat 2K10 version of “I Can’t Wait” from the Barbershop 2 soundtrack.  This right here has me amped for a new album because both Big Boi and Dre 3K DESTROY the beat and I’m still mad label politics kept Dre off of Big Boi’s solo. My patna said that Dre is like Bruce Leroy in The Last Dragon: He can kick everybody’s tail but he refuses to fight lol

 

NEW AUDIO: All-Star Cashville Prince aka Starlito – “Beggin My Feedom, Be My Friend or Belittle My Future” (Cash Money Records Diss)

FREE LITO! Who didn’t see this coming? Star’s going clean off on Birdman and CMR over the BMF beat and I’m suprised it took this long. I’ve said numerous times that Star woud NEVER release an album on CMR because he’s never been on CMR’s radar. This isn’t the first time he’s vented his frustration with CMR.  He’s doe it previously on “Rap Music Ruined My Life” back in 2006 (which wasn’t released until 2007’s Starlito’s Way 2) and his Hollywood Divorce starstyle, recorded the same year and finally released on his The Tenn-A-Keyan mixtape with DJ Crisis in 2007 also. 

It’s crazy that Birdman’s put out 4 albums since Star signed in 2004 and Star’s only been featured on TWO Cash Money songs in that same timeframe ( “We Gangsta” on 5 * Stunna and “No More” on Like Father, Like Son). It’s not like All-Star wasn’t putting out dope mixtapes. When Birdman recently spoke on all the upcoming CMR relases and Star wasn’t mention I knew it was a wrap for him.  I could write a book and a epic HBO series rivaling The Wire if I told the whole behind-the-scenes story of All-Star, Yo Gotti & Cash Money Records that I witnessed first-hand the last 6 years.  It would be the 2K version of Cadillac Records lol.

All-Star says it’s not a “diss” song…but what else can you call it with lines like:

“Like father like son, meet the stepson / interfering with my dreams, Inception”

“Had a Lex and a Luger like the dude that made the beat/ And I got some homeboys that probably wanna shoot at Baby”

“Too much pride to **** ride so I’m fighting for my rights”

“Maybe cause I ain’t a Blood, yeah I get it huh / But they wasn’t rocking bandannas when I met them”

“I sound a little bitter / well its cause I got lost in the system and they found some little n****s”
